Donations are not tax deductible. Justice Fund Facts Intended Purpose - the Sandy Spring Justice Fund is intended to be used for two purposes: 1) raising public awareness of the Farm Road families' plight by way of targeted mailings and paid advertisements, and; 2) raising money to prevent Mr. William Rounds' property from being foreclosed upon. Mr. Rounds was told that he was required to purchase alternate access to his property to make it buidable or saleable, and that the associated costs would be paid by the proceeds of his sale - a sale that never materialized. Fund Managers - Ms. Michele Awkard and Mr. William Rounds. Ms. Awkard is a single mother with five children living in a desperate situation - forced to pay property taxes on property that she cannot build upon or sell for fair market value. Like Ms. Awkard, Mr. Rounds is unable to rebuild upon either of the two properties that have been in his family for generations or sell them for fair market value. Allocation of Funds - funds will be split 50/50 between costs associated with raising public awareness and saving Mr. Rounds from foreclosure. In the event that funds are raised to payoff Mr. Rounds' deed of trust associated with his alternative access, 100 percent of the balance of the funds collected will go toward raising public awareness of the Farm Road issue. Expenses shall consist of advertising and demonstration costs. Fund Dissolution - upon resolution of the Farm Road issue, Ms. Awkard and Mr. Rounds intend to donate any remaining funds to Sickle Cell research. SaveSandySpring.org is not a signatory to the Save Sandy Spring Justice Fund, is not affiliated with it in any way, and shall not receive nor accept any proceeds from it.
